Music - main TV ad!

For our main adverts, Steve and I have started to discuss ways in which we can create non-diegetic background music to accompany our footage that is unique and original. In order to do this, we have started experimenting with a programme called 'Garageband.' Below is a screen recording of our basic experimentation:

Although this is very basic, this experimentation has given us some insight into how the programme works, and we hope to expand our knowledge of it as we start to use it more. Another idea suggested to us for GarageBand was the idea of using a few seconds of an existing song, and putting our own unique twist on it using the this software and more, such as 'Logic.'

In order to be able to use an existing song, Steve and I had to write to ask permission to use a song we had in mind. In order to do this, we looked up the record label (who own the rights to the song) for the song 'You! Me! Dancing!' by UK indie pop group Los Campesinos. 'Wichita' are the record label, and in order to contact them I found an official web page:

The website provided a list of email addresses in order to get in touch with the record label. I sent an email, in the hope they will reply giving us permission!

This existing song will be used for one of our adverts - the other we intend to create our own non-diegetic music using 'Garageband.' This should give us experience in using both ideas and create a difference between our adverts.
