One thing I have come across whilst constructing our main task, the TV advert, is the importance of continuity whilst editing. This is so the footage all links together well and makes sense to the audience. Therefore, I payed a lot of attention to detail with editing to achieve this idea. One way I did this within the footage itself was to link the three clips below together. I started off with a clip of my actor running up the stairs, then to a clip of just his feet, and then to a clip from the top of the stairs. This not only shows a variation of shots, but is continuous and interesting for the audience.
Other ways I have achieved the idea of continuity within this advert is through location and costume. Although the majority of my chosen footage was filmed on the same day, some parts were filmed separately. Therefore, I had to make sure my actor was wearing the same clothes etc. A mistake I did make by filming on different days was that in some shots my actor did not have a headphone in. So, I re-filmed these shots to make the advert more professional. We have also maintained continuity by using the same song for both adverts, yet editing them in slightly different ways.
