In order to help work on some new ideas for our sponsorship sequence, I made some changes to our original construction using 'Final Cut.'
We used the timeline idea to keep track of all our footage, text and sound, so we could edit it to fit. We also used the markers, using the 'M' key, as this would help to match our footage to the song and create cohesion.

We edited our footage into a series of very short takes. This was so to work with the pace of the song, and also to fit conventions of sponsorship sequences, which are usually very snappy and concise. We did this using the marker tool, so we knew where we wanted the footage to end with the music, and also using the razor blade tool to cut parts of the footage we wanted to use. We made sure our footage was interesting, so it was captivating at such a fast pace.
We used the text tools again, so to create different texts on the page to play over our moving footage. We also used new aspects of the text tools, however, such as the 'motion' option, which allowed us to move our text around the page, and change the scale of the images we had imported to use. These included both our own logo, and the ITV sport logo. We made sure the ITV Sport logo was larger than our own, as this was to be the main focus of the sponsorship.
Here is the basic finished example of our text covering the moving footage. It is concise and to the point, and gives a clear message to the audience of what the sequence is sponsoring.
A final aspect of 'Final Cut' which was useful, was the ability to change the volume of the music at different points. We used this to make the non-diegetic sound much quieter as the voiceover played, so it was easily heard and clear to our audience. We used a 'cross fade' effect between these two changes in volume, too, as this made the transition much smoother.
